Reading Steps and "Let's Talk About..."

"Let's Talk About..."® Reading Topics are conversation starters for home and the classroom. Sometimes it can be hard to talk about the important things with our young ones-- we hope these books will help open up thoughtful opportunities for great talks!

Reading Steps® are created to help provide steps to grow confident readers! 

Learners come in all shapes and sizes-- all possessing very unique skill sets and challenges to overcome. 

Reading level systems provide general grade level suggestions for parents and educators to assist in matching a title to the reader. However reading style and level is as different in every learner as their taste buds! 

We would like to remove the concept of "levels" and introduce a step system and a Reading Plan of Action. Levels imply  judgement and competition; they can just as easily hold back a gifted reader as discourage an unconfident reader.

What makes a successful learner? Focusing on each as an individual. And don't forget to build a Reading Plan of Action that fits his or her learning style best!
